MADRID, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid won the Madrid derby 5-2 at home to Real Madrid on Saturday night to end Real's 100 percent start to the season and to move within six points of the top of the table.

Atletico took the lead in a thrilling game with Robin Le Normand's header, but Kylian Mbappe and Arda Guler put Real on top before Alexander Sorloth's powerful header in first-half injury time made it 2-2.

Guler's high foot on Nico Gonzalez's head as he looked to clear a corner gave Julian Alvarez the chance to put Atletico back ahead early in the second half and the Argentinean then netted a stunning free kick to put his side two-goals ahead.

Real Madrid tried and failed to get back into the game, but Atletico defended well and Antoine Griezmann sealed a very good day for Atletico with the fifth goal in injury time.

Alberto Moleiro scored the only goal of an entertaining match as Villarreal won 1-0 at home to move to within just two points of Real Madrid.

Both sides created several chances in the fist half, with goalkeepers, Luiz Junior and Unai Simon made a series of good saves to keep the game scoreless at the break.

Takuma Asano scored the only goal as Mallorca claimed the first win of the season with a 1-0 win at home to Alaves.

Saturday's first game saw Levante take a well-deserved point from the visit to Getafe, with the home side taking a first-half lead through Ivan Romero, before Juan Iglesias equalized 10 minutes into the second half.

The seventh round of matches kicked off on Friday night with Girona and Espanyol drawing 0-0 to leave Girona bottom of the table, although Michel Sanchez's team is now unbeaten in its last two games.
