RABAT, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Morocco on Tuesday called for the respect of freedom of movement and sea navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

"Morocco is following with concern the recent developments and calls for respecting the freedom of sea navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said at a press briefing in the capital Rabat.

The international law and the rules of sea navigation must not suffer from any constraint or interference, Bourita added.

The Gulf region is under a lot of pressure, he said, adding "we believe that a sense of responsibility must prevail and freedom of movement and sea navigation must be respected."

Morocco has repeatedly condemned actions threatening stability and security in this region. Enditem
